This Sugar Skull class is a continuation of the introductory class. Sam will teach how to make decorative sugar skull beads using the techniques learned in Beadmaking I.  Students are required to take the Beadmaking I class prior to taking the Sugar Skull class. Each participant will have an individual workstation set up with a Hot Head Torch, tools and all the glass needed for the class. Lunch is included.

Once again Nina “Sam” Hibler will visit McAllen Stained Glass to teach Glass Beadmaking I. This fun class introduces the student to torch work fundamentals and the making of glass beads with a torch. Safety, studio-set up and beginning bead making techniques will be covered. Each student will make and take several beads including donut beads, cylinder beads, textured beads, round beads and dichroic glass beads. Decorative techniques such as dots, stringer and frit will also be introduced. All tools and materials will be provided. Lunch is included.

These pieces will be fired and picked up later. Prior glass cutting experience is not required. This class is limited to 8 students. Advance registration is required. For your safety, open toe shoes are allowed in the classroom. 16+ yrs.
