Learn basic steps and techniques used to cut stained glass. A demonstration of various cutting tools will be presented.

Beginning Stained Glass
Class #101
Learn all the steps required to complete a flat stained glass panel, using the copper foil method. This class will take you through each step, from drawing your design, cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering and framing your glass panel.

Leaded Glass Class
Class #200
Learn basic steps used in making a leaded glass panel. Students will learn how to prepare and solder lead came while building a glass panel. Each student will then learn glazing techniques and glaze their own panel.
Pre-Requisite: Stained Glass Cutting Class #100 or Stained Glass Class, Copper foil #101.
Class duration: 3x 2-hour sessions

Leaded Glass Cross Class
Class #201
Learn basic steps in working with lead came. Students will learn how to prepare and solder lead came. Each student will cut and shape the lead came to create a cross.
Pre-Requisite: Student must have prior soldering experience.

Leaded Glass Angel Class
Class #202
Learn basic steps in working with lead came. Students will learn how to prepare and solder lead came. Each student will cut and shape the lead came to create a beveled glass angel.
Pre-Requisite: Student must have prior soldering experience.

Stained Glass Mosaic Class
Class #300
Learn basic steps in stained glass mosaic art using the laminating and grouting technique. Each student will create a glass mosaic piece while learning to use the proper tools.
Pre-requisite: NONE
Class duration: 2x 2-hour sessions

Glass Fusing Workshop 401
Learn the essential techniques for making fused glass jewelry and accessories. This class will walk you step-by-step and provide you with the necessary information needed to fuse glass. Kilns, kiln preparation, glass compatibility and firing schedules will be discussed. Students will then be guided in creating a fused glass cabochon and fire it in a “quick fire” kiln. Then each student will prepare a picture frame that will be fired and picked up at a later date.
Pre-Requisite: Stained Glass Cutting Class #100 or prior glass cutting experience. Student must be at least 16 years old.
Class duration: 4-5 hours

Tools and equipment needed to complete the projects maybe be purchased as needed at McAllen Stained Glass.
Each student will work on an individual project of his/her choice, subject to instructor’s approval. Student must be at least 16 years old. Class is limited to 4 students. Tuition must be paid 10 days in advance in order to secure a place in the class.
