THIS CLASS IS CLOSED. Once again, Nina “Sam” Hibler will be in the McAllen Stained Glass studio to teach the ancient art form of Glass Beadmaking. Sam will teach Beadmaking I and Sugar Skulls. The Beadmaking I class introduces the student to torch work fundamentals and the making of glass beads using these techniques. Students will explore the art of making various glass beads as well as safety and studio set-up. Students will make and take home several beads including donut beads, cylinder beads, textured beads, round beads and dichroic glass beads. Decorative techniques such as dots, the use of stringer and frit will also be introduced.
